POV + draft status

Each scene shows its point-of-view character and current draft stage (First Draft, Revised, etc.) so you can track narrative perspective across the whole book.

Batch Extract

AI reads your manuscript scenes and automatically surfaces characters, locations and other entities into your Archivum — one click to populate your entire story bible.

Add Chapter

Append a new chapter to your outline at any time. Chapters can also be reordered by dragging the cards left or right.

Click any entry in the Archivum list to expand its full card inline — no context switching, no separate window required.

A freeform description field for each entry. This feeds context into all AI features so responses stay consistent with your established canon.

Save / Report / Dismiss

When AI suggests an Archivum entry, you review it here — accept, edit, or dismiss. You stay in full control of what goes into your story bible.

Chapter selector

Navigate directly to any chapter from the top bar. The dropdown shows all chapters in your manuscript at a glance.

Character mention highlights

The right-hand scene summary highlights character name mentions — Archivum entities are colour-coded so you can see who appears where at a glance.

Chapter 3 — currently locked

The chapter selector confirms you're viewing Chapter 3. The lock is specific to this scene — all other scenes in the project remain fully editable.

Proofing sessions

Each scene gets its own named proofing session. Sessions are versioned — you can run multiple passes and compare results before applying anything to the manuscript.

Diagnostics tab

A separate mode from line-edit proofing. Diagnostics analyses your prose for craft-level issues: pacing, dialogue balance, readability, and repetition.

Built-in vs AI engine

Choose Built-in (fast, offline, rule-based) or AI (richer prose review via your chosen provider). Filters narrow the results regardless of which engine you use.

Category filters

Focus on a single craft category — Style, Dialogue, Conciseness, or Pacing — or view all findings together. The active filter is highlighted.

Diagnostic score cards

At a glance: 33 total findings, 4 Pacing issues flagged as priority. Scores help you triage where to focus your editing attention first.

Focused Edit panel

Each flagged item opens a detailed panel — the issue category, why it was flagged, the paragraph in context, and a suggested rewrite ready to apply.

Save paragraph edit

Accept the suggested fix with one click, reset to the original text, or open the full scene. Changes are staged — nothing reaches your manuscript until you apply the session.

Privacy Mode Proofing — active

The default mode. Runs the built-in rule engine entirely in-browser, offline after initial load. Your text is never sent anywhere.

AI Proofing (Provider)

An opt-in alternative that sends your scene to your configured AI provider for a richer prose pass. Clearly separated from the offline mode.

Quote style — British / American / Curly

Choose your preferred quote convention. The proofer enforces your chosen style consistently across the entire scene.

Proofing intensity

Conservative catches only clear errors. Balanced adds style suggestions. Strict flags everything including minor improvements. Choose based on your draft stage.

Fiction Lexicon

Connects to your Archivum to recognise character names, place names, and invented terms — preventing false-positive spelling flags on your world's proper nouns.

Keyboard shortcuts

Full keyboard control: Cmd+S save progress, Cmd+Enter apply to scene, Cmd+Shift+A accept all changes, Cmd+Shift+R reject all changes.

Apply to Scene

Once satisfied, Apply to Scene pushes all accepted edits back into the live manuscript and unlocks the scene for writing again.

97 changes remaining

A live count of pending suggestions. Decrements as you accept or reject each one. The count resets if you pull a fresh pass from the updated scene.

History

Takes a full snapshot of the scene at any point during a proofing session. Even after changes are applied back to the manuscript, History lets you revert to any prior state — your original text is never permanently lost.

Accept All

Approve every suggestion at once. Useful once you've skimmed and trust the pass. You can still review History before committing.

Reject All

Discard the entire pass and start fresh, or keep the session for reference without applying anything to the manuscript.

Apply to Scene

The final step: all accepted changes are written into the manuscript and the scene is unlocked for continued writing.

Grouped changes

Changes are grouped by type — Spelling (11 changes) and Adjusted Quote Style (86 changes). Apply or reject an entire group with a single button.

Inline tracked changes

Red strikethrough shows the original text; green shows the replacement. The familiar tracked-changes format makes reviewing fast and intuitive.

Per-change detail cards

Each suggestion explains why it was flagged, shows alternatives, and offers ✓ Accept / ✗ Reject controls plus "Accept All Like This" shortcuts for bulk actions.
